Genre: Action/Comedy
Cast: Will Smith, Charlize Theron, Jason Bateman
Directed by Peter Berg
July Fourth is the day when Will Smith attacks the box office with one of his hyped-up larger than life movies. A minimum entertainment is always guaranteed for his movies. And Hancock is no different from the rest of his ensemble.
Will Smith plays the character of a superhero who is pretty alcoholic. The first twist arrives in the form of a public relation officer who decides to help improve Hancock's public image. He pretty well succeeds in that. The next twist comes in the form of a love angle between the PRO's wife and Hancock. Then comes another twist. That I can't mention here. Watch it.
What made this movie to be a huge draw at the box office is that it has got a pretty good storyline even though the movie fails to hold ones interest. Charlize Theron leaves a huge void in the acting department. Action sequences are pretty impressive but not over the top stuff.
Overall it is a weekend blockbuster movie time with the family. That is what this is all about.
And GOOD JOB, Mr. Will Smith for the entertainment.
6.5
